It seems the project of the high-performance Lexus LC F coupe is relevant again: a promising teaser was published the other day on the Lexus Racing USA Instagram page.
The shadowy photo with a big blue “F” in the background and the caption “Highest expression of performance” made us remember the Lexus LC F – indeed, the image looks like this model.
The hot LC F was in the pipeline, it should have been powered by a new twin-turbo 4.0-liter 600-hp V8 engine. But the company abandoned the idea due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lexus decided not to invest in niche models because of the unstable economic situation and even allowed the LC F trademark to expire unused in the USA.
What is happening now? The appearance of the teaser may mean that Lexus has solved to return to the project of the F variant for the LC. However, it might be the LC F Sport or LC F Sport Performance, or another F model of the brand. We can just speculate, but not assert.
Besides, since the image was published by the Lexus Racing division, it could be not a road car but a race car. We’ll see if more information becomes available,
