Which Cars Do Wealthy Americans Prefer Today?

The US car market in terms of sales is inferior to the Chinese one. However, the car sales revenue in this country is the largest in the world.The Americans often buy vehicles of premium brands. In the general structure of the market the share of this segment is greater than in Europe, and the demand is constantly growing.

Based on the CarSaleBase.com data for the first quarter of 2018 we selected the most popular models of premium brands, which today are preferred by the Americans with above average income.

The absolute leader In the niche of compact cars is the Mercedes-Benz CLA this year, and the demand for the model is growing rapidly (36% compared to the same period in 2017). The Audi A3 is the second, the BMW 2-Series is the third.

In the mid-size premium segment, car sales in the US are also growing. Here, the bestseller is the BMW 3-Series. The model is slightly ahead of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but a change of generations will happen soon, so the forecast for the most purchased BMW model is optimistic. The third position is taken by the Infiniti Q50.
