The automaker has announced pricing for the 2022 Lexus LS 500 and the 2022 Lexus LC 500 family. The updated models will reach U.S dealerships later this year.
Lexus refreshed several vehicles from its lineup for the 2022 model year. Trim levels and pricing are set, the cars will be arriving at dealer showrooms by the end of 2021. This is about the 2022 Lexus LS 500 sedan, LC 500 Convertible, LC 500 sports coupe, and a hybrid LC 500h.
2022 Lexus LS 500
For the next model year, Lexus adds some in-cabin refinements. In particular, a Mark Levinson audio system is now available on the base model. The Safety System+ 2.5 comes as standard on all grades.
One more new feature is a hand-applied Haku door trim. Haku foil is a Japanese old technique. The trim is optional for cars with Luxury and Executive Packages.
In addition, Lexus updated the sedan’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine delivering 416 hp and 442 lb.-ft. The unit got a newly developed piston and revised wastegate control. Moreover, the company re-calibrated the 10-speed automatic transmission’s shift logic.
The base RWD model costs $77,075, the AWD variant is $80,325. The price of the F Sport version will rear-wheel drive is $80,675, the F Sport AWD is priced at $83,925.
2022 Lexus LC 500
On the basis of Lexus Driving Signature philosophy, the company enhanced dynamic handling by optimizing front and rear suspension settings.
The first-ever Bespoke Build allows Lexus guests to configure their LC 500 car with a mix of styling and performance components. The company also added 21-inch forged alloy wheels to the Sport Package. The 2022 LC Convertible got a more focused color palette of 9 exterior paints.
The 2022 Lexus LC 500 is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine with 471 hp and 398 lb.-ft. of peak torque that pairs a refined 10-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle can sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Its fuel efficiency is 25 mpg highway according to EPA estimates.
The LC 500h’s multi-stage hybrid system comprises an Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine and two electric motors with a combined output of 354 hp. The system allows for more electric assist at lower speeds and enables the hybrid car to operate with the gasoline engine off at speeds up to 87 mph.
A 4-speed automatic transmission amplifies the power of the engine and electric motors generating more drive power during acceleration. The Lexus LC 500h uses a lightweight, compact lithium-ion battery pack with 84 cells producing 310.8V.
The new LC 500 costs $94,124, the LC 500h is $100,125; the price of the LC 500 Convertible is $102,175.
All prices include a delivery, processing, and handling fee. Sales start in late 2021.
