What’s Special About the 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel?

The Ram brand’s famous performance trucks have added another member to their ranks. The 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel debuted in public on September 29, 2022, at the State Fair of Texas.

The new model is based on the Ram 1500 Rebel. It is slotted between Laramie and Power Wagon variants sharing with the latter its structure and exterior styling cues.

Stand-Out Features

The vehicle features a combination of equally outstanding off-roading, towing (16,870 lbs), and payload (3,140 lbs). It comes with a box of 6 foot 4 inches, in a crew cab configuration.

Mentioning a Ram truck, we can’t help recalling a suspension, and YES, it is unique to the 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel. That exclusive five-link coil suspension enhances load carrying and articulation.

Besides, a rear air suspension system is available that improves ride and handling qualities making them the best in class.

Let’s add an electronic rear locker, a rear limited-slip differential, skid plates to protect the transfer case and fuel tank, 33-inch off-road tires, unique badging and Mopar performance hood, cargo tie-downs, a spray-in bed liner, bed LED lighting, a bed step, and not only, – and here it is, the 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel.

There is one more exclusive option – a factory-installed, integrated, front-mounted WARN Zeon-12 winch for 12,000 pounds with a unique fairlead and fairlead retainer utilizing a maneuverable synthetic line that won’t fray and kink.

Engines

Standard 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine with variable-valve timing (VVT). The unit makes 410 hp, 429 lb-ft, and pairs an 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission
Optional 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine with 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque mated to a 68RFE six-speed AT.

Cabin

Stellantis has described the interior in its press release but has not presented it in photos. We expect the newcomer is comfortable and rather up-to-date inside. At least, we can see what the cabin looked like in the 2022 Ram 2500.

For the 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel, the manufacturer offers three seating options for the model (a cloth or leather bench and a leather bucket seat), an advanced 360-degree surround view camera, a 12-inch frameless digital gauge cluster with a number of various menus, and five reconfigurable tiles. Analog or digital instrumentation to choose from is available.
