During the recent Stellantis EV Day 2021, the forthcoming all-electric Jeep Wrangler was teased in a video revealing some details about the model.
Jeep already has a plug-in-hybrid Wrangler 4xe but wants to go further – to pure electrification. The most interesting fact we’ve known is the Wrangler’s autonomous off-road capability it will acquire by 2030.
In the video teaser, a two-door Wrangler looks similar to the 2021 Jeep Magneto EV Concept released at the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. A 4-door model is related to the 2017 Jeep Safari Concept.
The features the all-electric Wrangler brings by 2025 include biometric recognition, drone pairing, peer-to-peer charging. By 2030, the vehicle will be able to wade off-road in a self-driving mode.
The model will have transparent doors, a three-section roof rack, a panoramic sunroof. A “Zero Emission” print along the side sills points to electric mobility.
The automaker notes that “future models and features may vary.” But the video at least gives a preview of the Jeep Wrangler EV appearance and some technologies.
