What We Know About the Forthcoming Lexus TX 3-Row Crossover

A new large model of the luxury brand – Lexus TX – will be based on the Toyota Grand Highlander and should arrive after the latter in early 2024.

The Lexus TX will have three rows of seats for up to eight passengers, and will probably offer the optional second-row captain’s chairs. According to Automotive News, the model slots above an elongated Lexus RX L (pictured) in the lineup of the brand.

When the TX enters the market, it will face worthy competition from the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

While the Toyota Grand Highlander positioned between the Highlander and Sequoia is planned to arrive in U.S. dealer showrooms in the middle of next year, its premium sibling – the Lexus TX – will join about 6 months after. We expect their official debuts to take place still this year.

The “TX 350” and “TX 500h” names were trademarked by the brand back in 2014, and only now they are going to materialize. It follows from the names that the Lexus TX, like other models of the brand, will have gasoline and hybrid variants, obviously more potent ones given the larger size of the TX.

Both related models, the Toyota Grand Highlander and the Lexus TX will be built at the plant in Indiana, and both will receive semi-autonomous driving tech with a hand-free capability.
