What Can We Expect From the Next-Generation Chevrolet Colorado?

The first spy photos of a camouflaged prototype of the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado have recently appeared.

Colorado is the top-selling model in its segment. The current-generation pickup enters its 7th year on the market. So, it’s time for the next generation.

The prototype’s body hides new sheet metal. The vehicle seems to be the same-sized as the existing Colorado. Under the disguise, we can barely identify a CornerStep rear bumper and a single-exit side exhaust tip.

Well, what is new in the upcoming Chevy Colorado?

Expect all-new exterior and interior, including new thinner LED lights, and a new powertrain shared with the latest Silverado – with a 2.7L I-4 L3B turbo engine making 310 hp and 348 pound-feet. That engine pairs with GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

The pickup will ride on the 31XX platform. This is a revised variant of the current body-on-frame architecture.

And, of course, we expect that as other new vehicles of General Motors the next Colorado will adopt the Vehicle Intelligence Platform – VIP or Global B. The platform enables over-the-air updates, the latest infotainment, and active safety techs.

It is too early to say now about the next-generation Chevrolet Colorado arrival time. The first test vehicles have just begun catching the spies’ eyes. We suppose, the model debuts in the 2nd half of 2022 or closer to the end of the next year. Let’s follow the news about the forthcoming track.
