Want to Spec a New 2022 Chevrolet Suburban?

The refreshed 2022 Chevrolet Suburban is now available to build using the online configurator on the brand’s website for buyers.

The online configurator for the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban is on, and now those who want to purchase a Suburban can spec a proper variant.

The year 2022 is the second model year of the 12th-generation Chevy Suburban. The carmaker made revisions of the color palette and wheel options: replaced two old exterior colors with three new ones, five old wheel designs with five new.

Besides, Chevrolet made a few mechanical changes to the 2022 Suburban. In particular, the Z71 models now come with an electronic limited-slip differential as part of the Off-Road Capability Package. The package also includes Magnetic Ride Control and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.

The RST and Z71 grades with performance packages are now available with a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 L87 gasoline engine that produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

In general, the Suburban’s engine lineup for 2022 MY retains its naturally aspirated gasoline eight-cylinder ‘duo’:  the aforementioned L87 and an L84 with 5.3 liters, 355 horsepower, 363 pound-feet.

The familiar 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder Duramax turbodiesel (LM2) is one of the engine options again. The unit delivers 277 hp and 460 lb-ft. The standard transmission is the same 10-speed one.

As for sales of the Chevrolet Suburban, they are steadily good in the USA: not as good as the Silverado’s or Equinox’s, but quite decent, especially in comparison. The company sold 71,128 Suburban SUVs from January to September 2021, and 75,137 Tahoe vehicles (Suburban’s sibling).
