Texas-based tuner Hennessey has made a number of performance upgrades for the Chevrolet Camaro.
They took the track-oriented Camaro ZL1 1LE and added new high-flow supercharger, induction and fueling systems, a plus-sized heat exchanger. Also, Hennessey upgraded the valvetrain, made a few more mechanical tweaks including dyno tuning. and “Voila!” – a beast is here.
The Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro is a limited-run range-topping version of the model with the package from Hennessey Performance. After the upgrades, its 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine makes an unbelievable 1,000 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 883 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,500 rpm.
The vehicle is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.1 seconds. It covers a quarter-mile distance in 9.57 seconds at 147 mph. The top speed it gains is 217 mph.
For comparison: the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE from factory packs 650 hp at 6,400 rpm and 650 lb.-ft. at 3,600 rpm. The ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance package adds a performance suspension with DSSV dampers, 19-inch wheels in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar summer tires, adjustable camber plates, and rear stabilizer bars.
