All-new Volvo C40 Recharge is a next of kin of the Volvo XC40 Recharge: almost same-sized, but with a lower roofline. Production will begin later this year.

The vehicles show resemblance inside (same cabin) and out (similar exterior), and under the hood (same 402-hp two-motor system and a 75.0-kWh battery). Volvo answers key questions about the new electric car.

The XC40 Recharge and the C40 Recharge also share the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA).

Unlike the XC40, the 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge is all-electric only and offers no gasoline powertrains.

The new vehicle’s estimated driving range according to the EPA test is 210 miles: plus 2 mi to the XC40 Recharge’s range. The claimed 0-60-mph acceleration time is the same as the XC40’s – 4.7 seconds.

The C40 Recharge probably comes in a sole well-loaded trim level. Customers will be able to order a car online. Volvo says it will use an online sales platform for the new product.
