The new Volkswagen T-Roc R can already be ordered. The price in Germany starts from €43,995.
The performance R version tops the lineup of the successful compact crossover. A 4-cylinder 2.0-liter 296-hp (221-kW, 300 PS) petrol (gasoline) engine from the TSI family powers it, delivering 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.
The VW T-Roc R comes standard with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 4.8 seconds.
The electronically limited top speed is 155 mph (250 km/h). The combined fuel consumption is 7.7 – 7.5 l/100 km (NEDC) or about 21.4-22 mpg (EPA).
The standard equipment includes progressive steering, sport chassis, RACE Mode, launch control, double-ended exhaust pipes, 18-inch Spielberg alloy wheels, 17-inch brake system.
Optional equipment includes R Performance exhaust system with titanium rear silencer (extra €3,800), 19-inch Pretoria Dark Graphite matte alloy wheels (€820), Lapiz Blue matte decorative trims, Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), “beats” sound system.
