Volkswagen is testing the hot version of its small crossover, which could challenge to the Cupra Ateca. It is about the 300-hp Volkswagen T-Roc R.
Performance crossovers become popular and soon may be preferred by customers more than regular hot hatchbacks.
Apart from the baby T-Roc R, other R models of the brand are on the way. The VW Tiguan R arrives at the same time as the mid-life facelift. Then a V6 Arteon R will follow.
The hot T-Roc itself should debut in late 2019. It is being actively tested now at the Nurburgring track in Germany.
The Volkswagen T-Roc R is the smallest model ever to produce 300 hp. And it has every chance to outperform other hot crossover attempts on sale, such as the Juke Nismo or the Mini John Cooper Works Countryman.
Its popularity is almost predictable, at least, in Europe. We expect it’ll cost around €45,000.The Cupra Ateca defined by the manufacturer as a unique thing can get a rival in the T-Roc R.
