Volkswagen has published the first image of a part of the eighth-generation Golf hatchback’s interior. The sketch shows that the automaker has thoroughly rethought the internal layout of its best-seller.
The new Golf, as can be seen from the render, will receive a large dashboard display, which smoothly flows into the infotainment system. Generally speaking, the front of the cabin looks more than minimalistic.
As earlier reported, the Volkswagen Golf launch into production is postponed from December 2019 to the beginning of 2020. Although its official debut, as planned, will be held this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Interestingly, a number of media informed that technical problems with the car’s digital dashboard and the infotainment system architecture were the reason for delay.
However, Jürgen Stackmann, VW’s head of sales, refuted the information. He said the release is postponed not due to the production issues but because the company wishes to carry out a “full offensive” after the New Year. So, this is nothing more than a marketing ploy to separate X-mas holidays and the start of sales.
