Volkswagen discontinues production of the Beetle model in July 2019. The carmaker has released its last Final Edition to honor the car after 70 years of its manufacture.

The first-generation Volkswagen Beetle (the Volkswagen Type 1) was developed by Ferdinand Porsche and arrived in 1938. The car was produced until 2003.
Over this time, more than 21 million Beetles were assembled at several plants. In 1997, Volkswagen presented the New Beetle produced until 2011. Finally, the third generation, which lost the New prefix in its name, was introduced in 2010.
