Volkswagen Announces Prices for Its Smallest SUV on the U.S. Market

The 2022 Volkswagen Taos pricing has been announced, starts at $24,190, goes on sale in June.

This subcompact model is the brand’s new entry-level crossover designed for the U.S. To some extent, this is a replacement for the VW Golf which is leaving America. Its rivals are the Subaru Crosstrek or the Jeep Compass.

The Taos is 9.3 inches shorter than the Volkswagen Tiguan, and surprisingly some of its versions are not much cheaper than the latter.

The 2022 Volkswagen Taos’s base engine is a 1.5-liter 158-hp turbo-four. Standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive is available. Transmission choices are an 8-speed one or a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch), both are automatic.

2022 Trims and Prices (from):

  • S $24,190
  • SE $28,440
  • SEL $32,685

IQ.Drive – the driver assistance package costs $995 for the S trim and $895 for SE. All-wheel drive is available at extra pay from $1450 to $2045, depending on the trim level.

Expect the Taos vehicles in dealer showrooms in early summer 2021.

Meanwhile, another model of the brand – the Volkswagen ID.4 – has been named the 2021 World Car of the Year. Congratulations!
