Upcoming Toyotas: Arrivals On the US Market

Soon Toyota will bring several new products to the American car market. What are they?

Expect the vehicles of the 2020 model year, such as Highlander, RAV4 TRD Off-Road, Yaris Hatchback, as wells as a couple of sports cars – the 2019 Supra Xfinity Series Race Car and the 2018 GR Supra Racing Concept.

2020 Toyota Highlander

The next-gen 3-row Highlander was unveiled at the 2019 New York International Auto Show.

The fully redesigned model can boast the best-in-class fuel efficiency, a higher safety level, a new TNGA-K platform; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a premium interior, impressive road-gripping features.

The model offers a choice of two advanced powertrains, a gasoline 295-hp 3.5-liter V6 (263 lb-ft) or the newest Toyota Hybrid System. The latter comprises a high-efficiency 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors.

The Highlander gasoline model will arrive in Toyota’s dealerdships in December 2019. The Highlander Hybrid will reach customers in February 2020.

The 2020 Toyota Highlander pricing will likely be close to the current 2019 model – from $31,350 to $48,830.

2020 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road

This new edition of the 5th-gen RAV4 made its debut at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. Arriving this fall.

The version features specific Toyota Racing Development engineering (suspendion, wheels, tires, 8.6-inch clearance) and design. It shares the same TNGA-K platform as the Toyota Highlander. The Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive comes standard, as well as Toyota Safety Sense (TSS 2.0).

The RAV4 TRD Off-Road is powered by a Dynamic Force 2.5-liter 203-hp 4-cylinder engine and an 8-speed Direct-Shift Automatic Transmission. The vehicle’s towing capacity is up to 3,500 pounds (1,588 kg).

Expect the price for the 2020 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road to be over the RAV4 Adventure’s $32,900.

2020 Toyota Yaris Hatchback

The car combines sportiness and premium engineering of a sedan with styling and practicality of a hatchback. The Toyota Yaris Hatchback premiere took place at the New York Aut Show in April 2019.

A 1.5-liter 106-hp inline-4 direct fuel injection engine powers the model, mated with a standard 6-speed automatic gearbox. The car got a Sport Mode for enhanced acceleration response.

A list of standard equipment is long enough and includes many functions which are often optional or available on upgrade models: Smart Key Entry with Push Button Start, rear backup camera, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, chrome interior elements, sun visors.

The Toyota Yaris Hatchback retuns to market in early 2020 priced from $18,705.

2018 GR Supra Racing Concept

First debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Created by Toyota Gazoo Racing, the car revives the heritage of the company’s most famous sports car.

The two-door compact vehicle has a pure front-engine/rear-wheel drive configuration and utilizes modern lightweight materials in its construction.

In April 2018, a new update of the Gran Turismo Sport racing video game was released, with the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept present in it.

The 2020 Toyota Supra pricing starts at $49,990 in the USA.

2019 Supra Xfinity Series Race Car

This purpose-built car is capable to produce over 700 hp. It is a result of the Calty Design research facility, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and NASCAR (National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing) teamwork. The car is ready to hit more than 200 mph (322 km/h).

Its on-track debut took place at the NASCAR Xfinity Series on February 16, 2019.
