Early next year, Chevrolet launches two new models on the U.S. car market – the 2020 Corvette sports car and the 2021 Trailblazer SUV.
Chevrolet is one of the most popular automotive brands in the USA. Moreover, this year it has topped the list of the brands preferred by Millennials and Gen Z buyers (under 36 years old) in America, followed by Ford, Honda, BMW and Toyota.
Indeed, Chevrolet has a wide portfolio of affordable cars. Two models of the brand are on the way to American customers, both go on sale in early 2020.
2020 Chevrolet Corvette
The automaker redesigned this new mid-engine sports car from the ground.
Aerodynamic components are integrated throughout. Door handles, hood releases and the hatch are hidden to better appearance and enhance aerodynamics. The windshield is now placed above the front wheels to improve downforce with no need for a front air dam.
The 2020 model receives an all-new 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine. It produces 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The car can achieve a top speed of 194 mph.
The Engine Appearance Package available adds carbon-fiber components and LED lights to illuminate the motor. The new mid-engine layout means that more power is directed to the rear wheels.
GM’s engineers worked well on the cargo space making it more optimal in front and rear. The car’s body structure is now 10 percent stiffer than before.
The Chevy Corvette has ultra-light 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, which provide better ride and reduced noise. They are available in two designs.
Heat exchangers behind each opening keep the engine cool. A hybrid rear spoiler helps take the car planted at high speeds.
Multiple high-tech features include Chevrolet’s latest infotainment 3 system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Front Lift, Performance Data Recorder, Head-Up Display; 12-inch diagonal reconfigurable digital instrument display, enhanced 3D View Navigation, Simplified Bluetooth in pair with NFC, 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection.
The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is available in three trims: 1LT (from $59,995), 2LT ($67,295), 3LT ($71,945).
The entry level car is equipped with a Bose premium 10-speaker system, 8-way power GT1 seats, a driver mode selector, all-season performance tires.
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible will debut on October 2, 2019.
2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer
The all-new compact 2021 Trailblazer joints the SUV lineup of the brand sitting between the Trax and Equinox.
It receives a fresh design that gives way to more personalization, a decent suite of the newest standard active safety systems. A two-tone roof is a highlight of the Trailblazer RS trim.
Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Park Assist and a high-definition rear vision camera come optional.
Prices will be annouced later. For comparison: the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox costs from $31,495, the 2019 Trax pricing starts at $21,300.
