Kia’s new multi-purpose vehicle represents a bold and boxy SUV-like design born at the company’s California studio – the same place where Kia created the Telluride and new Sorento SUVs.
The 2022 Carnival offers the best-in-class passenger room and cargo space. The model features more luxury and utility. Its multi-seating configurations include Slide-Flex second-row seating and VIP Lounge Seating options.
The Kia Carnival comes with twelve standard Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features. The segment-exclusive Blind-Spot View Monitor is available as an option, as well as a 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control.
The front-wheel-drive Carnival has a single powertrain comprising of a 3.5-liter V6 GDI engine with 290 hp at 6,400 rpm and 262 lb.-ft. torque at 5,000 rpm, and 8-speed automatic transmission. The towing capacity is 3500 lbs.
Kia hasn’t detailed the equipment for each trim level yet. LX, EX, SX, SX-Prestige models will be available.
The 2022 Kia Carnival for the US market is set to go on sale in the 2nd quarter of this year. The starting price should exceed $31,575 of the current 2021 Sedona.
