Kia continues the Rio in two body styles – sedan and hatchback – for the 2021 model year in the USA, but unlikely with a 48-volt hybrid system.
The mild-hybrid 2021 Kia Rio is intended for Europe, while in North America we expect that the 1.6-liter inline-four engine in pair with the continuously variable automatic transmission carries over to the next Rio.
The American version probably gets the same exterior tweaks at the front and rear and interior upgrades as the Europe-spec model. The price for 2021 may slightly rise compared with the current car.
Production of the U.S.-spec Kia Rio Facelift should start at the end of this year.
The current prices are set between $15,850-16,790. Thank to its engaging ride and strong predicted reliability, the 2020 Kia Rio tops the rankings in the Subcompact Cars Category. It is a finalist of the 2020 Best Car for the Money Award.
The current model can boast a solid amount of passenger space and an attractive cabin, as well as a new standard infotainment system equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The car has good fuel economy and agile handling, but few advanced safety features. Some customers may find the ride too firm.
