Tuned Rare Porsche 911 Is Auctioned For One Million Dollars

The tuned famous 1989 Ruf CTR Yellow Bird has been exhibited at the RM Auctions. This car was produced in quantity of only 29 units.

The Ruf CTR Yellow Bird is one of the most famous Porsches of 80’s. It is based on the standard Porsche 911 Carrera coupe, but its engine was bored to 3.4 liters, two turbines were added, as well as a pair of intercoolers and fuel injection from the racing Porsche 956.

The result is 469 hp and 553 Nm of torque. With a 5-speed manual transmission, the Ruf CTR Yellow Bird accelerated to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and developed 342 km/h. So, it was one of the fastest cars of its time.

Unlike the later Ruf Porsches, this car looks pretty restrained. It can be distinguished only by a modest body kit and a rear wing in the style of the Porsche 911 Turbo.

Of course, the rarity of the model and its good condition are reflected in the cost. The approximate price will be 1-1.2 million dollars.
