The new 2022 Lexus LX is previewed. Expect it on sale early next year.
Lexus has trademarked the LX600 name in the United States. The model is closely related to the Toyota Land Cruiser and will look similar, but with its own chrome detailing. The teaser image reveals L-shaped lighting accents and a spindle grille.
Unlike the Land Cruiser, the Lexus SUV will probably enter the U.S. market.
We think that as a replacement to the current 5.7-liter V8, we’ll see the new Land Cruiser’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood of the new LX600, in pair with a 10-speed AT. The V6 produces 409 hp/479 lb-ft on global versions. 4WD will be standard.
Later on, a hybrid version of the LX600 may appear with the iForce Max powertrain – the one Toyota recently teased for the 2022 Tundra.
In the USA, the Lexus LX outsold its counterpart from Toyota, and this explains why Toyota Motor Co. plans to offer the sole Lexus model in the country for the next generation.
