Toyota GR Supra Will Definitely Get a Manual Transmission: Confirmed

The 2023 Toyota GR Supra has been confirmed to come with “an all-new, tailor-made” manual gearbox.

The fact that the next 2023 Toyota GR Supra can get a stick-shift option is not news: it has been talked about for months. Now rumors become reality.

Toyota UK has confirmed the GR Supra’s manual transmission is coming soon. The automaker engineered it closer to the Gazoo Racing DNA to enhance the driving experience.

In addition, the Toyota USA posted a photo of a three-pedal setup in the driver’s footwell with the caption including #Manual.

So, it is clear that the new Toyota GR Supra will have the manual transmission, it is not clear only in pair with which of two turbocharged engines it will work – a 2.0-liter 255-hp inline-four or a 3.0-liter 282-hp inline-six, or both. Probably, Toyota will reveal it later

We remind you that the current fifth-generation model (A90) known as the Toyota GR Supra in Europe and North America, and as the Toyota Supra in its home market (Japan) is basically a counterpart of the BMW Z4 (G29).

It rides on BMW’s CLAR platform, uses BMW’s 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and engines of the Bavarian company, but has its own design. The public debut took place at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2019.
