The Blue Oval has revealed the all-new Ford Ranger Raptor, so, the Ranger family now consists of three members: F-150, Bronco, and Ranger.
The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor has stronger underpinnings, a more powerful engine, re-engineered suspension, and a number of off-road features from Ford Performance, like FOX 2.5-inch Live Valve internal bypass shock absorbers.
This is a global model to be available in many markets including North America. Expect it will cost from $52,500 in the USA.
The Ranger Raptor’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 delivers 288 HP and 362 lb-ft (491 Nm) of torque. Besides, Ford will continue offering the current 2.0-liter EcoBlue bi‑turbo diesel engine in some markets.
The new vehicle is equipped with an electronically-controlled active exhaust system that delivers engine sounds in four exhaust modes for different driving scenarios: Quiet, Normal, Sport, and Baja.
For the first time, the Ranger Raptor gets an advanced full-time four-wheel-drive system with a new electronically‑controlled on-demand 2-speed transfer case and locking differentials – front and rear ones.
One of the distinctions of the Ford Ranger Raptor is the availability of 7 selectable on- and off-road drive modes: Normal, Sport, Slippery and Rock crawl, Sand, Mud/Ruts, Baja.
Customer deliveries of the new model in Europe will begin in late summer. This version is the first of the new-generation Ford Ranger lineup the carmaker launches on the continent.
Appearance
The exterior features flared wheel arches, LED lighting, C-clamp-designed matrix headlamps, a “FORD” lettering, a tough separate front bumper and a Precision Grey rear bumper; predictive curve lights, glare-free high beam, auto dynamic leveling; 17-inch alloy wheels in all‑terrain tires, aero elements, grippy cast-aluminum side steps.
In the cabin, there are jet fighter-inspired sports seats, Code Orange accents, a premium leather sports heated steering wheel, cast-magnesium paddle shifters; a 12.4‑inch all-digital cluster, and a 12-inch center touchscreen for the SYNC 4A system.
