Toyota sold over 805,000 vehicles in Europe from January through September 2021. Three most popular Toyota models in Europe are the Corolla, Yaris and RAV4.

Toyota sales volumes in Europe in the first three quarters of this year amounted to 805,181 units. This is 21% more than in the same period in 2020.

The top-selling Toyota models in Europe are the Toyota Corolla with 163,872 vehicles, the new-generation Toyota Yaris (162,078 sales) and the Toyota RAV4 – 130 630 Europeans chose the crossover.

The most popular hybrid Toyota models are the Yaris Hybrid, Corolla Hybrid and C-HR Hybrid. By the way, a total of 470,712 units of electrified vehicles were sold, which is 38% more than last year’s result.

Interestingly, in Western Europe, hybrid versions of Toyota accounted for 69% of sales, while in Eastern Europe, Turkey and Israel – only 28%.

Commenting on the result, Matt Harrison, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe, noted that the company continued expanding its electrified vehicle lineup with the launch of the Yaris Cross Hybrid, Lexus NX Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid.

Order volumes for Toyota and Lexus are at an all-time high, but the automaker is not immune to supply disruptions facing the global auto industry, Harrison lamented. However, the head of the European division of Toyota Motor sees his task as meeting the high demand for the products of the company’s brands.

As for Lexus, three crossovers became the best-sellers: Lexus NX, Lexus UX, Lexus RX. Moreover, most of them are hybrids.

The company’s electrified vehicle sales grew even more, with hybrid electric vehicles up 36% to 59% of total sales. The Toyota brand maintained its position as the 2nd best-selling passenger car brand in Europe with a 6.4% market share, up 0.7% from the same period in 2020.
