Here are the TOP 10 most preferred vehicles in the first quarter of 2023 in the largest European car market.
From January to March 2023, Germany’s TOP 10 best-selling models include four medium cars (C-segment), three small cars (B-segment), two large cars (D-segment), and one city car (A-segment) according to the European passenger car classification. In North America, the C-segment corresponds to compact vehicles, the B-segment to subcompact cars, and the D-segment to mid-size vehicles.
German brands dominate, while there is only one non-European model on the list – the Tesla Model Y that is confidently winning the hearts of German buyers. Sales of the American battery-electric crossover rose by almost 222% in Q1 2023 in the country!
Contrary to our expectations, there world’s preferred SUVs don’t have dominance in the German market, at least, there are only three crossover SUVs among the ten favorites.
A trio of Volkswagen models heads the TOP 10 list: the Golf traditionally leads (20,948 sales), although the demand for it is falling; the T-Roc follows after with 17,798 units sold, and the third is the Tiguan with 16,595 sales.
