The TOP 10 best-selling mid-sized SUVs in the US market in the 1st half of 2018 have been defined by Carsalesbase experts. In general, stagnation in sales was observed, though the Honda Pilot and Chevrolet Traverse demonstrated a good growth.

For 6 month of 2018 sales in mentioned segment rose by 4% compared to the same period of 2017. 989,582 cars were sold in total. In Q2 (April-June) the sales growth slowed down a bit (to 1%).

The mid-sized SUV segment could retain its market position. It is behind just Compact SUV and Pick-up segments.

2018 Chevrolet Traverse

After many new arrivals in 2017, there are surprisingly few newcomers this year. The Chevrolet Blazer and Hyundai Santa Fe are among them. The new Ford Explorer is expected late 2018. The experts fear the segment still may show negative dynamics.

  2. Toyota Highlander – 114,254 units, +14%;
  3. Jeep Grand Cherokee – 109,313 units, -6%;
  4. Honda Pilot – 76,079 units, +40%;
  5. Chevrolet Traverse – 73,260 units, +29%;
  6. Ford Edge – 68,048 units, -5%;
  7. Toyota 4Runner – 64,828 units, +2%;
  8. Hyundai Santa Fe – 59,181 units, -1%;
  9. Kia Sorento – 52,760 units, +5%
  10. GMC Acadia – 48,513 units, -13%.
