The 2019 Geneva International Motor Show is taking place these days (March 7-17). Many concepts, both hybrid and all-electric, high-performance vehicles, new iterations of best-sellers are on display. We picked the brightest premieres to TOP 10 and offer to reader’s attention.
Alfa Romeo Tonale
It is the first plug-in hybrid and the first compact utility vehicle of Alfa Romeo. It previews a lineup of four cars expected by mid-next decade. In 2020 its production version should arrive.
Aston Martin Vanquish Vision
It is the brand’s third mid-engine hypercar apart from the AM-RB 003 and the Lagonda All-Terrain Concept. It features a bespoke bonded aluminum chassis and a fully new V6 motor, which help rivaling Ferarri and McLaren vehicles.
This is a B-segment electric car with 3D accessories, a reconfigurable one that can accommodate four people. Comes with a factory-mounted battery with a range of 62 miles (100km) in standard, but up to three additional batteries (100km each) are available. The total range achieved is 311 miles (500km).
Honda e Prototype
It previews Honda’s new urban electric vehicle and leads on from the 2017 Urban EV Concept. The first Honda car on a dedicated EV platform is a key part of the brand’s “Electric Vision” strategy for the European region.
Delivers more than 124 miles (200km) of range. The battery charges to 80% in half an hour. The powerful electric motor is driven through rear wheels.
Imagine by Kia
This is a bold luxury technological electric concept, large enough (belongs to C segment) that previews next-generation Kia EVs and turns into a production car early next decade. A low-mounted battery pack is capable of wireless charging.
This compact SUV is the second model in Mazda’s next-generation lineup. It enters a new market segment for the company sitting between the CX-3 and the CX-5, embodies a more mature Kodo design language.
The model got the latest Skyactiv engines, including Mazda’s revolutionary Spark Plug Controlled Compression Ignition (SPCCI) technology.
It previews the next Mk3 Nissan Qashqai. The exotic looking concept car features a development of Nissan’s hybrid e-Power technology.
100% electric motor drive system uses the brand’s latest 1.5-liter gasoline engine as a generator. Twin motors provide four-wheel drive with a total output of 340hp and 516 lb-ft (700Nm) of torque.
Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered
A high performance plug-in hybrid (gasoline motor based) version of the Peugeot 508 which goes into production by the end of 2020. Gets power from a 200hp 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo PureTech engine and two electric motors. The total output exceeds 507hp.
A new all-electric five-door fastback with avant-garde design. The Tesla Model 3’s potential rival with a guide price of €39,900 (€59,900 for a launch edition for the first year of production). It has two electric motors and a 78kWh battery pack, 311 miles (500km) of driving range, sits on Volvo Cars’ adaptable Compact Modular Architecture (CMA).
The next (5th) generation model has an evolutionary exterior and a revolutionary interior. It is built on an all-new platform, got a mild-hybrid technology and high-end materials inside (even more that the latest VW Polo or Audi A1).
