At the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai presents its new 2020 model. It will join the full-size SUV segment of the US car market. The Hyundai Palisade sales, which we are speaking about, will start in summer 2019.
The LAA opens it doors in the end of this month. The model’s name refers to the heavenly place Pacific Palisades, a rich and picturesque area in Southern California.
The SUV for growing families with active lifestyle combines eight-seat layout and boxy exterior design with upscale interior and advanced safety technologies.
Hyundai previewed the Palisade with the Hyundai HDC-2 Grandmaster, a sensual sportiness-styled concept presented in June 2018 (pictured).
Some experts consider the Palisade to be the Santa Fe’s Grand version. Others believe the Santa Fe XL will ever arrive. Indeed, several elements of the upcoming car (a grille, headlights) are similar to what we see on the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe.
The Hyundai Palisade got a six-cylinder motor and a new front-wheel-drive architecture with potential for a hybrid powertrain. It shares this platform with the recently revealed 2020 Kia Telluride. The Palisade may even be produced at the same factory in West Point, Georgia as the Telluride.
A list of the new large Hyundai SUV’s possible rivals is rather wide. Apart from the mentioned Kia Telluride, it includes Dodge Durango, Nissan Armada, Ford Expedition, Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, Honda Pilot,Toyota Sequoia.
