The Pre-production Mercedes-Benz GLE Has Been Shot By Automotive Paparazzi In China
The pre-production Mercedes-Benz GLE has been recently shot by automotive paparazzi in China, which is an important market for the model. The new four-generation SUV will likely be presented in a few months.
The photographed vehicle seems to be an AMG version with its front splitter, large air intakes in the bamper, black-silver AMG wheels, as well as perforated brake discs. A huge logo looks like a typical one for AMG modifications. We can add new multibeam LED lights, a wide and massive grille.
In the cabin there is a wide touchscreen, the left part of which will display the readings of devices, and the right part will act as a multimedia system.
The interior also features four oval air vents, two cupholders, large handlebars with a controller for infotainment between them and a drive selector behind the controller. Wireless charging will be available in the car, as well as an upscale Burmester audio system.
The GLE will be 4,930 mm long – 80 mm more than the current model (upper picture). As previously reported, the Active Body Control system will be redesigned. In the Off-Road Plus mode, the SUV will be put 50 mm higher with the help of an air suspension to improve all-terrain capability.
The new-generation GLE’s motor range will include various 4- and 6-cylinder engines. The GLE450 version will have a new 3.0-liter inline V6 with a mild hybrid system. The same engine is mounted in a new E-Class and the AMG E53, where it develops 451 hp.
The GLE63 will get a twin-turbo 4.0 liter 8-cylinder engine with 563-604 hp depending on the trim level.
