The global SUV market is growing every year. Such vehicles overtake hatchbacks, sedans and minivans. Which are the newest crossovers to arrive soon? We’ve select the most interesting newcomers.
Citroen C5 Aircross
The crossover will enter the European market at the beginning of 2019. It’ll be a serious rival for the Skoda Kodiak. The French automaker set hopes on its largest SUV.
The C5 Aircross has long gone to mass production after the presentation of the concept precursor in 2015. It lags a little behind its brother Peugeot 5008.
This largest SUV of the brand is of great importance for BMW. It will enter the market in spring 2019.
The model will be rivaled by such crossovers as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and Range Rover. For this, it will have to show a high level of practicality, luxury and driving performance.
Audi E-tron Quattro
It seems we’ve known all about the Audi’s first electric crossover recently unveiled. Despite some problems with production, it will be available in early 2019.
The model’s highlights are advanced technologies, a neat recognizable design and a 400-km driving range on a single charge – not record, but still impressive.
Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
This well-known premium compact SUV will undergo generation change next year. The appearance of the new Range Rover Evoque is still disguised. All we have is a teaser, strange-looking enough.
It’s not so little, in fact. The artful design shows the silhouette and some specific features of the model, such as short overhangs and narrow glazing. We expect serious stylistic influence from the elder Velar. Also, the three-door body will remain.
Volkswagen’s smallest crossover is a little late. Nevertheless, It is going to catch up in the fastest growing segment. As claimed, the model delayed because the company watched the competitors and studied customer preferences.
All this should allow Volkswagen to release the best urban crossover to the market. Let’s see if this will be true.
Skoda Small Crossover
Customers will be able to purchase the Vision X-styled model in about a year. The Czech automaker will introduce it at the beginning of 2019. This crossover is still unnamed. It will be the most compact in Skoda’s model range.
The company also promises that the vehicle is the most practical and spacious in its class. No way to do without touching details like a glass scraper and an umbrella in the door.
Tesla Model Y
The Tesla compact crossover should arrive in 2020. The development had to be slightly ‘postponed’ due to the issues of optimizing of the Model 3 production (the small Model Y is based on it).
The expected driving range is 480 km. There will be the familiar huge multimedia touchscreen inside.
