The new-generation Opel Corsa is expected to significantly change. It will be the first car produced under the French PSA Groupe.
Given the exceptional importance of the first step, the model will differ much from the previous-generation Corsa.
Earlier, the Corsa was built on the General Motors’ platform. After Opel is purchased by PSA, the Corsa will be built on CMP architecture, which is also the basis for the new Peugeot 208.
The Opel Corsa’s motor will also change. The main will be a turbocharged 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine for better performance and economy.
The car’s exterior is expected to be in accordance with the new GT X concept, recently introduced by Opel. A 3-door variant may be discontinued, as it loses popularity in Europe.
Soon after the premiere of the new-generation Opel Corsa, an electric version, the eCorsa, is planned to launch.
