The premiere of the updated BMW 7-Series will take place this autumn. Insiders reveal some details about innovations in the new version of this flagship sedan.
The Bavarian manufacturer plans to significantly increase the output of the hybrid modification, which will get now the 745e index.
The petrol turbo engine of the hybrid will remain the same, but mated with a new electric powertrain, inherited from the BMW i3 model. The total capacity of the upgraded system is expected to be about 390 hp, instead of previous 322 hp.
Apart from increasing the power, the sedan’s power reserve on electric traction should enlarge. The predecessor had 40-km driving range, but even approximate figures are still unknown. The batteries will be charged from a wireless charging station.
The BMW 745e hybrid version will debut early next year, a few months after the standard versions of the refreshed 7-Series.
