Sales of the American electric car in just one month exceeded 46,000 units.
The American electric car has not just become a sales leader in Europe. The Tesla Model Y is ahead of the closest pursuers by a huge margin.
So, in March, the sales of the Opel / Vauxhall Corsa, according to JATO Dynamics, slightly exceeded 25,000 units. The hatchback takes second place. The Model Y sales, for comparison, amounted to more than 46,000 units.
In the EV segment, the Tesla car is unrivaled: the Volkswagen ID.3 sales amounted to 8,590 cars, the MG MG4 – 7,722, and the Volkswagen ID.4 – 7,642 units.
In total, taking into account the March sales result of Tesla’s Model 3, Model S, and Model X, the American automaker sold nearly 61,000 vehicles in Europe. This, of course, is not dominance yet. The VW Group or Stellantis have several times higher figures.
Although, objectively speaking, such a concept as pent-up demand can play into the hands of Tesla today. Europeans have been waiting for the Model Y for a long time, but the prospects for Tesla in Europe are quite nice.
