According to statistic data from different sources, the Tesla Model 3 is the best-selling passenger car of a U.S. manufacturer.
It sales in September 2018 were record. There are no monthly releases about sales from Tesla. The data from several sources do not coincide, the estimates vary between 18,000 and 22,250 cars sold last month.
The carmaker has recently reported that 55,840 Model 3 sedans were delivered worldwide in Q3’2018. This is two times more than in the entire previous period of the year.
If to take the higher estimate for September sales, the Tesla Model 3 seems to outsell a perennial top-selling Toyota Corolla in the USA. The latter, by the way, is assembled at the Tesla’s factory in California.
The models which are still ahead of the Model 3 in the North American sales standings are the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and the Honda Civic. They all are produced in the US.
Although the Tesla Model 3 is currently the most in-demand model among passenger cars, it can’t rival by sales numbers with full-size pickups and small crossovers…so far.
