The 2023 Subaru Solterra will make its world debut on November 17th at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Subaru of America has announced the world premiere of the all-new Subaru Solterra. It will be streamed live in a week – on November 17 at 10:45 a.m. Pacific Time or 1:45 p.m. Eastern Time. The official debut will take place at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show that opens for visitors on November 19-28. The model is Subaru’s first fully electric SUV.
The ”Solterra” name means the Latin words “Sun” and “Earth”. The vehicle is built on a new all-electric e-Subaru Global Platform.
This model of Subaru is a sibling and a platform-mate of the Toyota bZ4X, with similar dimensions and technologies. Toyota’s e-TNGA and Subaru’s e-SGP architectures are co-developed by Toyota and Subaru and are similar.
Expect the Subaru Solterra to have a 71.4-kWh battery, a dual-motor powertrain with 218 hp of total output, an optional roof solar panel, plenty of ground clearance and, naturally, Subaru’s Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
Subaru describes its new product as all-weather and off-road capable, quiet, spacious, equipped with all the cabin technology for a modern SUV, and state-of-the-art safety features.
The upcoming model should arrive at dealerships in mid-2022. Let’s wait for the premiere to find out the details.
