Subaru has released some information about its first pure electric vehicle. The Subaru Solterra SUV is a 2023 model scheduled to go on sale in the middle of next year.
The carmaker has given little information, without specifics, about the upcoming vehicle yet. However, something is already known. Subaru says this is its most technologically advanced model ever, mainly meaning the “state-of-the-art” safety technologies.
Besides, Subaru applies its famous all-wheel-drive system to the environmentally responsible all-electric SUV. For the Solterra, Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive comes standard. One more important detail about the new product is the e-Subaru Global Platform the Solterra rides on.
According to the manufacturer, the Subaru Solterra is a versatile, long-lasting, off-road and all-weather capable vehicle that offers plenty of ground clearance. As for the model’s cabin, it will accommodate the up-to-date equipment and provide comfort, quietness, ample back-seat and cargo room.
Subaru is a dynamically developing brand with growing sales. In the first half of 2021, the automaker sold 278,373 vehicles in the USA (30.6% more than in 2020) and 27,212 units in Canada.
With the launch of the Solterra, Subaru sets a course for electrification and joins the club of all-electric SUV/crossover makers.
