The hybrid models of Subaru are nowadays available in the Japanese and American markets only. Soon deliveries of such vehicles to Europe will start, after the premieres at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show.
A pair of new Subaru cars will make their debuts in the Swiss capital next month. Not all-new models, but hybrid modifications for the European market will be showcased. It’s about the vehicles with gasoline-electric e-Boxer engines.
So, Subaru intends to expand its presence in the hybrid segment on the markets other than the United States and the brand’s homeland – Japan. We hope to see at least a prototype of the new-generation WRX STI sports sedan in Geneva in March.
Previously Subaru announced a possible switch to hybrid motors, and the next Subaru WRX STI may well be a hybrid car. Subaru’s spokesman once admitted the brand could give up a 2.5-liter boxer engine.
The Subaru XV Hybrid with a 2.0-liter 150-hp gasoline boxer engine and a 15-hp electric motor is on sale in the USA and Japan. Last year the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid arrived, but only for the US car market so far.
Apart from hybrid premieres, the updated Subaru Levorg wagon with a new 2.0-liter gasoline engine will be introduced in Geneva.
