The 2022 Subaru Forester Facelift has made its debut in Japan. Minor changes happened including new colors and safety tech upgrades.
Subaru revises the Forester’s front end. Specifically headlights now have a more upright design, a front bumper looks refreshed. There is U-shaped pattern of the grille, and a Subaru logo in new metallic ornaments.
There are round and vertical LED fog lights depending on the trim level. New 18-inch wheels and colors – Autumn Green Metallic, Cascade Green Silica, Brilliant Bronze complete the picture of external changes.
Interior changes include new upholstery options, EyeSight upgrade. Subaru also updates the suspension for all grades for better comfort. The e-Active Shift Control is now available on all versions with the e-Boxer hybrid engine.
Customers in Japan can already place pre-orders. A version for North America is coming. Subaru should unveil it in a few weeks. The US-spec Subaru Forester will likely have a 1.8-liter gasoline turbocharged engine that produces 174 hp (130 kW) and 221 lb-ft of torque.
By sales in Q1 2021 in the USA, the Subaru Forester in the best-selling model of the brand (47,694 sales), followed by the Outback (41,503 units sold) and Crosstrek (35,187 sales).
