The Cadillac XT5 luxury crossover has received a number of updates for the 2022 model year. The production of the model begins this month.
New XT5 vehicles will roll off the assembly line at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee on June 24, 2021, GM Authority reports. The facility reopens ahead of schedule after the shutdown due to a global semiconductor shortage.
Dealers have been placing orders for the 2022 XT5 since last month. Therefore, from the end of June, buyers will be able to see and touch the new Cadillac by visiting showrooms.
According to sales result in the first quarter of this year, the XT5 crossover is the second Cadillac model in the USA by popularity outperformed only by the Cadillac Escalade.
For 2022, the manufacturer discontinues optional Shadow Metallic and Garnet Metallic colors and replaces them with a new pair of colors.
The refreshed Cadillac XT5 comes with a new Brembo brake package as standard on the Sport trim level. The package includes performance front brakes and red brake calipers at the front and back.
Engines choices are a 2.0-liter 235-hp 258 lb.-ft. turbo I4 LSY gasoline one or a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter LGX V6. The latter makes 310 hp and 271 lb.-ft.of torque. Both engines are mated to GM’s 9-speed automatic transmission.
