Volkswagen of America launches the updated Tiguan for the 2022 model year.
All four trim levels of the 2022 VW Tiguan are available with 4Motion all-wheel drive, an 8-speed AT, and a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 184-hp 221 lb-ft TSI engine.
The exterior changes include a revised front end with new LED lights, grille, and bumper, 8 colors including new Oryx White and Kings Red Metallic, new aluminum-alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 20 inches. Two top trim levels feature sporty R-Line design elements.
The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit instrument cluster with an 8-inch display and Car-Net with in-car Wi-Fi capability is available from the entry-level trim. A 10-inch Digital Cockpit Pro is optional.
Wireless charging, App-Connect, a next-gen Climatronic Touch interface, a new IQ.DRIVE driver assistance suite, MIB3 infotainment come from the second trim. The base Volkswagen Tiguan comes standard with Front Assist, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert.
Heated front seats are now standard. A heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats are options. R-Line models get a leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch islands and sliders.
Additional features customers can enjoy are leatherette or leather seating surfaces, power driver and passenger seats, a panoramic sunroof, Fender Premium Audio, 15-color ambient lighting.
The 2022 Tiguans will be reaching American dealer showrooms in the third quarter of this year.
The Tiguan is Volkswagen’s No.1 vehicle in the USA in terms of sales. Thus, 27,265 units were sold in the first quarter of 2021. The Jetta is the 2nd, and the Atlas is the 3rd.
