Genesis has significantly revamped the G70 sedan for the 2022 model year.
Its new appearance resembles the larger G80 sibling and the GV80 SUV in their latest iterations.
This is about a crest grille and quad-headlamp setup at the front, and horizontal two-bar LED taillights, dual oval exhaust tips, a body-color rear diffuser at the rear.
Under the hood, we’ll meet another engine now – a 2.5-liter inline-four making 290 hp. It replaces the previous 2.0-liter turbocharged one.
An optional twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine will most likely come instead of the 3.3-liter mill. Along with the 2.0-liter engine, the company discontinues the six-speed manual transmission it paired.
The new model offers standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 10.3-inch infotainment display featuring an exclusive Genesis UI design. It suppors the latest over-the-air wireless updates, Valet mode.
To accomodate smartphones of larger size, the carmaker has also updated wireless charging.
Apart from a sedan body style, the 2022 Genesis G70 will be available as a longer shooting brake (wagon) on some markets.
The carmaker will first launch the model in the home market, South Korean, then in the USA, probably in early 2021. More details will follow.
