The BMW 3 Series in its next iteration features a digitalized interior with a new BMW Curved Display and refined exterior.
The exterior changes include newly designed aprons, revamped full-LED headlights and a grille, brand-new designs of 18-inch light-alloy wheels. Powerful proportions and clearly structured surfaces at the rear accentuate the width and muscular stance.
Individual paint finishes for the exterior will be available at launch, in addition to Skyscraper Grey metallic and Brooklyn Grey metallic colors. The Shadowline trim is standard now, while the Satin aluminum line exterior trim is optional.
The M Sport Package also got new design features for the next 3 Series. The company will offer the 2023 BMW M340i models with the classic BMW Motorsport roundels on the trunk, hood, and wheel center caps to mark the 50th anniversary of BMW M GmbH.
Inside, the BMW Curved Display is a new interpretation of cockpit design. Several buttons and controls are reduced in favor of intuitive touch and voice control. A 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9-inch control display merge into a single unit. The control panel on the center console now comes with a new gear selector.
The facelifted 3 Series received the BMW Operating System 8 and innovative digital services including the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the standard navigation system with cloud-based BMW Maps, Connected Parking, and Personal eSIM capability moving the model into the era of 5G.
There are three powertrain choices for the next BMW 3 Series: a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine in the 330i, an efficient plug-in hybrid 330e, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid 3-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six.
All are available with an optional xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system and a standard eight-speed Sport Automatic transmission controlled now by a new toggle lever on the center console. Steering column-mounted shift paddles come as standard too.
