2020 Land Rover Defender Tested By Red Cross In the UAE Desert

Land Rover finalizes pre-premiere testing of the all-new Defender.

This time the model has visited the base of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Dubai.

Experts tested a prototype in sand dunes at temperatures above 40 °C and on the winding Jebel Jays mountain road at an altitude of 2 km (1.2 mi).

Simultaneously with the tests, Land Rover renewed its partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

This partnership was launched 65 eyars ago, in 1954. Over the next three years, Land Rover and the Red Cross will help people in remote areas of India, Mexico and Australia.

The 2020 Defender is the most functional of all Land Rovers. Its 815-mm tires provide a large contact area of the wheel with the road surface. In combination with the adaptive traction control system they make the vehicle all-terrain.

The prototypes of the new model have already passed more than 1,200,000 kilometers (746,000 miles).

The new Land Rover Defender spent a week in Kenya with Tusk (a British charity organization). Then it participated at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed.
