Ram Plants To Extend Its Model Range With an Electric Pickup

FCA’s CEO Mike Manley has told of an all-electric RAM pickup that will arrive soon.

Its price should start from around $70,000. The Ram 1500 will serve as a basis for this zero-emissions truck.

There are no details about the RAM EV for now. We know neither about its launch time, nor about its performance, driving range, technologies used. Expect the vehicle in the coming years.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. doesn’t currently offer a pure electric vehicle in the United States. A plug-in-hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xe will go on sale there in early 2021.

Moreover, the company plans to introduce electric versions of the Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio sports cars, as well as a new MC20 supercar.

There are not a few offerings in the segment of electric pickups, already existing, or forthcoming. So, Ram’s ‘green’ truck will face serious competition from startups (Bollinger, Rivian, Lordstown, Nikola) and old brands (GMC, Ford).

Don’ forget about Tesla with its futuristic 500-mi Cybertruck, which is also a strong rival.
