Ram 1500 Adds All-Electric Version for 2024

On June 8 during the Stellantis EV Day 2021, Ram announced it would launch an electric version of the 1500 pickup.

The all-electric Ram 1500 will ride on a new, dedicated body-on-frame architecture – STLA Frame, and provide around 500 miles of range.

Now Stellantis is working on three drive modules, each can fit front-, rear- and all-wheel drive, 4WD, and plug-in hybrid 4xe.

The current Ram 1500, we recall, offers a mild-hybrid technology (eTorque system) in addition to regular gasoline and diesel versions powered by a 5.7L Hemi V8, a 3.6L Pentastar V6, a 3.0L Ecodiesel V6, a supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8.

The Ram 1500 EV is set to go into production in 2024. It will compete with such all-electric pickups as the Chevrolet Silverado or Ford F-150 Lightning.

This is a strong rivalry, indeed. The Chevy model is in high demand. It tops sales ratings. The Ford vehicle is a potential best-seller. The Ram pickup will be difficult to withstand the competition.

Moreover, the Ram brand plans to have an electric vehicle in most of its segments by 2025, and in all of its segments by 2030. Yesterday’s announcement of Ram also refers to plug-in hybrid technology but does not specify which Ram models will get it.
