Yesterday BMW announced that the BMW M8 Gran Coupe in its production form will debut at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show (Nov 22 – Dec 1).
The high-performance BMW M8 Gran Coupe comes to replace the M6 Gran Coupe and be a bolder alternative to the M5 GT.
It was showcased as a concept car in spring 2018 in Geneva. Now a production-ready model is coming.
Under the hood, it will probably have a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine producing up to 625 hp (459 kW) with M xDrive all-wheel-drive, like its 2–door sibling.
It will have a longer wheelbase, but the exterior and interior similar to the M8 Coupe’s and the 8 Series Gran Coupe’s.
AMG GT 4-Door Coupe and the Audi RS7 Sportback will be the BMW M8 Gran Coupe main rivals on the market, when it arrives in 2020.
As for its prices, they will comparable to those of the 2-door versions. The BMW M8 Coupe costs $133,000 (U.S.) and €125,700 (Germany), the M8 Competition Coupe – $146,000 and €168,000, respectively.
Prices in Great Britain are £123,435 for the base M8 and from £130,435 for the hotter Competition trim.
The 4-door M8 won’t be along: the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe also makes its debut in Los Angeles.
