One electric motor functions as an engine starter and a generator for the hybrid battery. The second motor powers the vehicle for hybrid and electric driving modes, charges the battery during regenerative braking. The Crosstrek Hybrid offers up to 17 miles of electric only driving.

The optional package costs $2,500. It offers a power moonroof, heated steering wheel, a Starlink 8.0-inch multimedia system with TomTom powered navigation, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with 432W equivalent amplifier.
