Hot Audi SQ8 Is tested At The Nürburgring

At the Nürburgring race track in Germany, a pre-series prototype of the Audi SQ8 has been spotted during a high-speed test. The high-performance crossover is expected to get a 4.0-liter engine.

Six months after the debut of the stock crossover, spies captured the S sports modification.

Audi is in no hurry to reveal details about the SQ8, but earlier in its press release the automaker said that a 4.0-liter TDI diesel engine with an electric compressor would be available in the Q8’s motor range. It is likely the unit mounted on the prototype, which develops up to 435 hp.

However, the diesel engine isn’t fit for the USA, so the Audi SQ8 for the North American market will probably get a petrol 4.0 TFSI with 460 hp.

The large crossover coupe entry into the market has become an important event for Audi. Many experts in one voice emphasize that Q7 and Q8 are absolutely different cars.

The new crossover is forecasted to have great prospects. Any information about the Audi Q8 causes public interest, especially when it comes to its hot version.

The main rivals of the Audi SQ8 will be the BMW X6 M and the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Coupe. The Audi Q8 costs from 76.300,00 EUR in the domestic market (Germany).
