Audi has started series production of its first electric SUV – Audi e-tron, not even waiting for its official presentation scheduled for September 17 at a special event in San Francisco.
Audi is teasing with new images of the production-ready vehicle. The company assembles it in Brussels. A more upscale e-tron Sportback will be produced there from 2019 too.
Thanks to the active advertising campaign, we already know almost all about the newcomer’s interior and exterior and will hardly be surprised when it throws off the camouflage.
The car’s technical part is also revealed: dual electric engines produce in total 360 hp and 561 Nm of torque. With boost activated the SUV can output 408 hp and 664 Nm.
A large 95-kWh battery pack helps accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 6.0 seconds.
According to WLTP the e-tron offers over 400 km ( 248.5 miles).
The German carmaker wants the model to go down in history as “the world’s first certified CO2-neutral mass production vehicle in the premium segment.”
