Porsche launches a sporty version of the Macan, GTS abbreviated (“Gran Turismo Sport”). It can be already ordered. The starting price in Germany is 77,880 euros (VAT inclusive).
The newcomer has the outstanding driving dynamics, distinctive design with black accents, 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels, sports steering and seats, high-quality interior materials (such as Alcantara), enhanced equipment, the chassis lowered by 15 mm and performance oriented.
A 2.9-liter 6-cylinder 380-hp (280 kW) engine powers the Porsche Macan GTS. It is 20 hp (15 kW) more than before. The peak torque increases by 20 Nm (15 lb-ft), it is 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) available from 1,750 to 5,000 rpm.
The unit works in combination with a PDK dual-clutch transmission, which Porsche adapted anew.
The acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 4.7 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package – 0.3 sec faster than the predecessor’s. The model develops the maximum speed of 261 km/h (162 mph).
The carmaker specially tuned the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system for the Macan GTS. The car features an optional adaptive air suspension, sports exhaust system and brakes.
The sportiest Macan model consumes 9.6 l/100 km (24.5 mpg) according to the new NEDC (derived from the WLTP test).
